"Robot Andy" Original Painting – Encaustic & Oils on Panel, 6"x6"

Daily painting, June 12, 2015.

I adore robots. I grew up watching old sci-fi movies from the '50s and '60s, and they left an indelible impression on me. This robot is named Andy and he's floating in red and orange space. His arms may be a little short to be super functional, but let's just say that they telescope out so he can live a full and happy life. The background is encaustic; the robot is painted in oils. Now he just needs a home!

This unique, one-of-a-kind painting would look marvelous in your collection! I paint from the heart, and all of my paintings come from a need for peace, tranquility, and beauty, even on the most challenging days. Beautiful art isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity!

Everyone who sees encaustic paintings in person asks what the medium is – they’ve never seen anything like it. (And you know you want to touch it, which is fine as long as you’re gentle!) Encaustic paint has an amazing luster and texture that’ll look sensational on your walls.

Hanging Your Painting

The painting arrives ready to hang – a metal hanger is installed on the back so you can hang it and still see the sides of the wood panel and the drips of wax. I always hang them like that, it’s a cool effect! Or you can take your painting to your local framer and have it put in a floating frame. Have questions about framing? Read my recommendations!

Encaustic paint is wax, but it won’t melt in your house. Like all art, you should avoid hanging it in full sun, but a bright room, even if it gets warm, is totally fine. If you have questions about caring for encaustic paintings, you can read more here.

I’ve done my best to match up each painting’s colors perfectly on my monitor, but yours is probably set up a little differently than mine. The colors may look a little different on your monitor than they do in person.
