"Anomaly" Original Painting – Encaustic on Panel, 3.5"x2.5"

"Anomaly" Original Painting – Encaustic on Panel, 3.5"x2.5"

Daily painting, July 9, 2015.

I played with some dripping and smudging with this one. These little boards hold heat more than larger wood panels do, so I could play with smudging the wax since it didn't harden as quickly. Fun! This is another in my "Space" series – this one's an anomaly in space, not your usual nebula. The background is violet-gray, and the other colors include red, blue, yellow, and pink.

This unique, one-of-a-kind painting would look marvelous in your collection! I paint from the heart, and all of my paintings come from a need for peace, tranquility, and beauty, even on the most challenging days. Beautiful art isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity!

Everyone who sees encaustic paintings in person asks what the medium is – they’ve never seen anything like it. (And you know you want to touch it, which is fine as long as you’re gentle!) Encaustic paint has an amazing luster and texture that’ll look sensational on your walls.

Hanging Your Painting

Because this is so small, I didn't put a hanger on the back. I recommend buying a little stand for it, or just leaning it on a shelf. You could add a hanger if you'd prefer. Or you can take your painting to your local framer and have it put in a floating frame. Have questions about framing? Read my recommendations!

Encaustic paint is wax, but it won’t melt in your house. Like all art, you should avoid hanging it in full sun, but a bright room, even if it gets warm, is totally fine. If you have questions about caring for encaustic paintings, you can read more here.

I’ve done my best to match up each painting’s colors perfectly on my monitor, but yours is probably set up a little differently than mine. The colors may look a little different on your monitor than they do in person.
