I grew up going to museums and art galleries, and it’s still one of my favorite things to do. But now, we have the internet and a ton of artists that I can check out without leaving the house. Nothing can beat seeing artwork in person, but I still get incredibly inspired by the amazing work I find online. Here are a few artists that I dug this week:
This post by Lisa Congdon about being open is absolutely amazing. Inspiration is everywhere, and it's so important to keep your eyes open and explore the world! Even if something (like the quilt show Lisa just judged) is "not your thing" or comes at an inconvenient time, it can still spark incredible ideas if you're just open and seeing. I highly recommend reading this one!
Misty Copeland, the ballet dancer, is all over the place lately. It's awesome, and hopefully more people get interested in dance and become lifelong fans because of it. Here, she recreates some of Degas' paintings of dancers, and it's gorgeous.
