Encaustic on Panel
This painting was a bit of a journey. I went a few different directions that I wasn't happy with, and I ended up scraping a lot of the paint off with a razor. When I got to this point, I liked what I saw so I stopped scraping. I did a quick fuse to smooth out the scrape marks, and then added a layer of encaustic medium to finish it off. I'm pretty happy with it, and I'm really glad I decided to scrape it back! The colors include off-white, french blue, and gray, and parts of the wood panel are visible as well.
It's available in the shop for $160. I see a river at twilight – what do you see?
